MediaTek Announces Dr. Lih Shyng (Rick) Tsai Officially Takes the Office of Co-CEO on 1 June 2017
HSINCHU, Taiwan – June 1, 2017 — MediaTek today announced that Dr. Lih Shyng (Rick) Tsai officially takes the office of Co-CEO on 1 June 2017, and reports directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ming-Kai Tsai.
Since the announcement of Dr. Tsai as Co-CEO by the Board of Directors, Dr. Tsai has intensively been understudying company operations and interacting with the various teams within the company. His coming onboard now is advantageous in the positioning and implementation of various corporate strategies.
Dr. Tsai and Chairman Ming-Kai Tsai will be jointly responsible for the entire company operational leadership and the execution of business strategies. To begin with, he will directly assume leadership over worldwide sales, technology and engineering research and development, manufacturing operations and information technology.
Since April, Dr. Tsai had participated in numerous internal meetings and activities. On various corporate matters, he has interacted with the teams as well as offered his professional views and suggestions. With Dr. Tsai’s expertise in semiconductor and communication, as well as his abundant professional management experience, his joining will bring about new modes of thinking and approaches.
