MediaTek Completes Purchase of Analog Devices Cellular Radio and Baseband Chipset Divisions

Hsinchu, Taiwan - MediaTek, Inc. (TWSE: 2454, “MediaTek”) today announced that it has completed the purchase of the assets related to the Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI) Othello® radio and SoftFone® baseband chipset product lines, as well as certain cellular handset baseband support operations, which was previously announced in September 10 2007. These product lines represented approximately US$230 million in revenue for ADI, based on fiscal year 2006 financial results. The total cash consideration is approximately US$350 million.

Through this acquisition, MediaTek will be able to strengthen its portfolio by obtaining key patents and intellectual property. More over, this acquisition will also enhance MediaTek’s global operations and development in converging wireless technology in order to provide innovative solutions to its customers.
