I am currently a 2nd year graduate student working towards my M.S. in UCLA. I am from Hsinchu, Taiwan where headquarters is located. As a well-known fabless semiconductor company throughout the world, MediaTek is undoubtedly one of the most desirable working places where many new grads are trying to land a job.

I am glad to be here as an intern in SPT team under department of design technology this summer.

My mentor has given me significant freedom in my work. Most of the time, he wants me to come up with a solution to a problem first, instead of explicitly showing me the answer. By spending time thinking of the way to solve these problems, I explored my weakness and strengths, which let me know how I can further improve myself in the rest of my Masters study. Besides, his enthusiasm about trying something innovative did really impress me.

In addition, I got the chance to talk to senior engineers who gave me invaluable advice on my future career path. It is unlikely for me to gain this kind of access in school alone. By talking to them, I realised that a good engineer requires not only technical skills but also communication skills and a positive attitude toward our works. Apart from talking to senior staff, I also met people working on different fields. We had the event, "breakfast with learning", on the 1st Friday of every month. It was really great that I could learn new things during work.

Finally, I would like to express great appreciation to my manager and mentor, HR staff and all the other interns. Thanks to my manager and mentor for giving me this opportunity to work on such a challenging yet interesting project. Thanks HR staff for organizing all the events that let us know more about MediaTek. Thanks to all the other interns for hanging out and having lunch with me. Thanks to MediaTek for having me here and making my life extraordinary. Internship in MediaTek has no doubt been the most unforgettable experience in my life!
